An Ideal Design For Slower Swing Speeds

The new CER E-Series irons are built on the same profile as the best selling CER 851 U irons, but with a few changes that make them even more playable. The E-Series irons, like the 851 UM, have the highest playablilty rating of any of the CER irons. The undercut cavity design moves weight low and to the perimeter, lowering the center of gravity and increasing the forgiveness on off center hits. Where the E-Series takes it a step further is in the bounce and loft specifications. An increase in the bounce of 1 degree in the 3 through the 9,PW,GW and SW make the E-Series slightly more turf friendly for the slower swing speed, mid to high handicap player that has a tendency to hit shots heavy. The 1 degree increase in the loft angles aid the slower swing speed player in getting the ball to the optimum trajectory and cover the proper distance for each club.

The features that carry over from the 851 U iron design include the progressive offset hosel through the set increasing in the longer irons to aid in squaring the face at impact. The blade lengths of the E-Series, like the 851 UM, are a little longer, increasing the MOI (Moment of Inertia) of the iron. This makes the head more resistant to twisting on off center hits resulting in straighter ball flight. The E-Series also has the shorter hosel design allowing for more weight to be put where it counts, in the sole and in the perimeter, lowering the CG and increasing the MOI. The muscle undercut feature carries on in the E-Series giving the iron the same incredibly solid feel delivered in the 851 U. CER E-series irons
