The face width stays constant through out the lofts at 3.26" (82.8 mm). The face height progresses from 1.38" (35.05 mm) tall on the fairway 3 wood down to 1.32" (33.53 mm) on the hybrid 11 wood. This progression in crown width and face height gives the 3 wood through the 11 wood a progressively more hybrid appearance. The sole was carefully designed to have just the right amount of toe to heel radius and front to back radius on all the lofts to make them very turf forgiving.
We also maintained the special "0 Effective Offset" feature that made the original CER metal woods so unique. This offset places the leading edge of the face even with the leading edge of the hosel, giving it a true 0° offset.
This feature helps the golfer put their hands in a better position and effectively gives the clubface more time to square at impact, reducing the tendency to slice. Also, the offset places the C.G. of the head slightly farther back in the head in relation to the hosel center line, which can help in getting the ball airborne. The head weights are designed for building clubs to fairway wood lengths.
THE 851+ ZO Fairways and Hybrids are investment cast from high 17-4 Stainless Steel and come with the same beautiful finish as the new drivers. These Fairway Hybrids were designed to take a .335" tip diameter wood shaft. The wood tip diameter, because it is smaller, lends itself to being more tip responsive and giving the club builder more flex and length options than the larger tip diameter shafts. So, there you have it, a Fairway/Hybrid progressive set of metal woods that makes the transition from fairway woods to hybrids seem natural. We truly believe we have taken the CER line of fairway woods to an entirely new leyel of performance.
